We’re all about a positive affirmation here at Mindfully Mindful and “I AM” is a favourite of ours.
These two words are very powerful and it’s important to use them in the right way – a positive way.
Our thoughts and words shape our lives and we often don’t realise it at the time. When we’re down on ourselves we will often say things like “I am rubbush at this” or “I am so ugly” or “I am so fat” and once these thought patterns kick in, bad habits kick in – like over eating, drinking, drugs and other harmful things that damage us.
Whenever these negative thoughts enter our minds it’s important that we flip them to the opposite more positive thought.
If you need a little help with this, everytime a bad or negative thought enters your mind instead of beating yourself up over it just say “FLIP IT” and counteract that thought with something nicer and more positive. As with all habits this will take a while to get used to, especially if you’ve spent most of your life putting yourself down and being hard on yourself.
You can also use this correction method if you find yourself having negative thoughts about other people and situations.
