Bali Travel Diaries – London to Seminyak…Party, Party, Party!
Why Bali? For my cousins destination wedding and for someone who lives in the land of luxury (Dubai) she wanted to venture out and share another piece of paradise with us all. So 14 of us left London for the Land of The Gods for a jam packed two weeks of fun and frolics.
Our first stop…Seminyak!
Our first villa was the perfect starting point for all the family to bond yet have enough personal space. Peppers was simply amazing, we stayed in a four bedroom villa which had a communal kitchen/lounge area and pool (all the parents had their own separate villa). From the moment we landed we were washed and changed into our glad rags for the first dinner my cousin and her fiancé had arranged for us. Ling Lings was a 10 minute walk from our villa, which is a tapas restaurant. Being a vegetarian the food options weren’t that great as is the case with most restaurants but, we made it work and what we did order was delicious and filling.
The next two days in Seminyak were jam packed with a hen spa day, which was much needed as we didn’t have anytime to get over our jet lag, villa parties with free flowing Chivas which is blooming expensive in Bali at £70 for a £45 UK priced bottle (we didn’t make full use of the duty free at Doha as our connecting flight unfortunately didn’t leave much time for shopping), roof top dinners and a night club were all squeezed in to this crazy start to an adventurous vacation.
Other places we made full use of whilst in Seminyak were…
The Red Carpet Champagne Bar – which is a lovely chilled out place for pre drinks, just watch out for the magician who entertains you with his fancy tricks and then tries to get money out of you. We thought he was part of the venue but he wasn’t and not many people appreciated his intrusion and forcefulness.
Zibiru Restaurant – for a pre wedding celebratory dinner hosted by the bride and grooms friend who owns the Italian restaurant in Bali.
Other notes…
Peppers – we had breakfast included in our package and all I can say is that it was amazing! So many options and most of them healthy such as acai bowls and mushroom on avocado toast.
